Prospects of Sugarcane Industry in Mithila Region of Bihar

There was a time when many farmers loved to grow sugarcane in their fields इन mithila.The fertile soil of the mithila region used to produce bumper सुगर्काने crops.There were many sugarcane industries that were established at that टाइम namely Raiyyam Sugar Mill in Darbhanga ,Sakri Sugar Mill and Lohat Sugarmill इन Madhubani and many other private units in other parts of mithila.The price that थे farmers received for their sugarcane crops were sufficient to meet out their पर्सनल needs.

The दोव्न्फल्ल In the course of time the government of Bihar took over all the sugarcane mills एंड decided to run the industries through Sugar Corporation headed by I।A।S persons।Due to the wrong policies and management almost all the mills closed down incurring a heavy loss on the establishment .No attempt was made to revive और review the condition.

Fresh Initiative

The new government has shown interest and seriousness in reviving the सुगर्काने industries and setups in Mithila and other parts of Bihar.The government वांट्स private-public partnership to run and revive the sugarcane units.

Industry Response

Sensing the bright future of setting up sugarcane units ,the industry is excited , बुत following the policy of wait and watch.Goverment had received feedbacks फ्रॉम companies such as Reliance and other majors which gave the government अ confidence.

Hurdles in the way

There are some problems that the goverment is facing today for making the मिथिला a sugarcane hub.
1)Farmers do not grow sugarcane anymore in their fields due to lack of markets एंड industries whom they can sell their products to.
2) The poor road conditions do not allow sugarcane product to reach the फैक्ट्री outlet.

3)Major shortage of power in the region can increase the production cost ऑफ़ sugarcane product as a result they can not face marketing competition from ओथेर sugarcane state units

Ray of Hope

Luckily the present goverment seems determined to get some results .

१.) People of Mithila are witnessing the war scale work being done in रोड construction.The Instruction of express highways and good village roads इस definately going to give benefits to the goverment and the people
२.) Government is trying to modernise existing thermal power stations।In addition, there are also investments in setting up hydel power stations to meet the energy demands।
